The idea of taking small bits of fabric and arranging them to form a picture – like a mosaic – sounded fun and creative, and I decided that this was a technique I wanted to try.

The quilt Tools of the Trade depicts some of the favorite tools in a quilt maker’s studio. The pattern for this quilt is available in my book Sewflakes: Papercut Applique Quilts and now you can also take a class to get started on your own version of this quilt.

Every now and then, a quilt strikes a chord, captures the imagination, and generates great interest. Such has been the case with my quilt Butterfly Kisses. Three years and many requests later, the pattern for this quilt is finally available.
