Thank you for your comments - I&#039;m so glad the article was helpful for you!  One way to keep the bead &quot;upright&quot;, so the hole isn&#039;t visible, is to take a backstitch.  After adding a bead, take a stitch back to where the thread first exited the fabric.

		<description>While searching for information about how, where and when to add beads to a quilt I came across this page on your blog.   I found your suggestions very useful.  I was specifically looking for information about whether it was best to add the beading before or after quilting and you have answered that for me.  Thank you also for the library citations.  I&#039;ll have to check these out in my local library.  My only question remaining is how do you get the bead to lay flat so that the hole is not visible?  i&#039;ll have to search further.
